Selectively Permeable Membrane

Queer, science, radical themed noise

This photo was taken by  Marcus Leblanc a student at Mcneese University, with one of his friends. Why is this important? Well for starters the bike being sat atop of us is a ghost bike and memorializes a fallen cyclist. Hats off to Marcus and his friend for trivializing that. But wait, there’s more. This ghost bike in particular is a memorial to Mickey Shunick, a universally known individual in Lafayette, who was abducted after being struck while on her bike and then murdered this past summer while courageously defending herself from a sexual predator. Through her efforts her killer whom has abducted at least two other victims is now in prison. People see this bike and the park its built in as a source of inspiration, a place of remembrance, and not as a fucking jungle gym. But hey if you want the world to see you desecrate womyn’s graves I’m glad to help. I hope every time someone searches your name it pulls up this photo and the cross-media commentary of shocked and disgusted individuals. I hope you have to explain to individuals why you thought it was in any way appropriate. Mostly I just hope you go die in a fire but I’ll settle for your tarnished names.

PLEASE, please, please, reblog. If you’ve had the chance to meet her or anyone in her family, you know how much Mickey deserves to be brought home. If you haven’t, become inspired by this effort and the strength of our community. We have to be in this together, stay strong, and fight every day to bring her back. Do your part, let the world know that one life can bring a million together.

Got to be a model at school today and the theme was Disney princess. We had to use either reduced, reused, or recycled things. My group picked Tinkerbell and we use big leaves and missing Mickey flyers <3
